Costs have been mounting in the year since the Trump administration began directing aging coal plants to stay open.The J.H. Campbell coal-fired power plant in West Olive, Mich., one of five coal plants in the United States that President Trump ordered to remain open. The plant has reported $180 million in expenses associated with running the facility since last May.
